Admittedly, without knowing any of the specifics regarding the capability of this MC Baselight plugin -- and solely within the context of a BMD/DaVinci-based solution -- $1,000 (US) would be a very acceptable price-point.
The DaVinci Software product is $995, the DeckLink Extreme is $900 -- and then you may have to factor-in the cost of a dedicated computing platform and associated hardware (multiple graphic cards, computer monitors, program video monitor, scopes ...).
Of course, this assumes you are not (or cannot) load both the NLE and DaVinci applications/hardware on the same computing platform -- which can be especially challenging from a PCIe-slot point-of-view -- and is flat-out impossible on a laptop workstation.
Larger facilities will undoubtedly require a dedicated CC room(s) -- but regardless of workflow, there's something to be said about providing a professional caliber CC toolset on individual workstations (desktop or laptop) -- especially if Baselight offers some type of export feature which can migrate offline CC decisions to a dedicated full-up Baselight CC room.
