Roger,
I had the same idea. It wouldn't do it; I got a message saying some of my video was the wrong format. I just rolled back to 5.5.3 and I was able to open the 6.0 timeline. However, I had the same problem with it. I'm wondering if there is a bad clip in the mix (I have about 6 bins of clips) as well as the RAM using all its power and needing more. Before I downgraded to 5.5.3 I exported a same as source quick time of the time line and imported that into a new project in MC5.5.3. I'll cut a few changes on top of that and then keep going. It seemed like the quickest and least frustrating solution at the moment.
I truly appreciate all the help and will entertain any other ideas anyone has.

I do have one effect that is seven layers and I'm maxed out on RAM for this MBP at 4GB. If I can get to a point where I can export a quick time of what I have so far, I can roll back to 5.5.3 until I upgrade to a new MBP.

A Springbuffer error is usually a failed attempt to play back video in real time (IIRC the Springbuffer is a RAM area that gets filled with pre-composited video as the playback proceeds). Seems a bit odd that you see it when you attempt to render.

Lately whenever I go to render or collapse or uncollapse part of the timeline I get a "SpringTime Buffer" error message. I've rebooted, I've created a new project, duplicated the timeline in the new project, tried new settings. Has anyone else experienced this? Right now I'm trying to finish a project so I'm locked into 6.0.1 and can't roll back to 5.5.3. Any suggestions?
