This IS the Avid L2: Re: [Avid-L2] QuickTime X and Reference movies

As I understand it, QT reference movies use XML. FCP-X does not read XML,
so therefore won't play (or export) reference movies. I think you're stuck
with re-exporting as self-contained to use them in FCP-X.

Mr Hodgetts may chime in with a better explanation/solution...
