RE: [Avid-L2] Canon XF MPEG-2 MXF Files in MC 4.0?

Just for completeness' sake - you can move the .mxf files out of their structure in to a folder called "ALL" for example and then import them all at once. It's not like an EX3 or something where you have to keep the folder structure intact.

Yes, I was playing with the Canon the other day (thinking about

purchasing one) and the media imports fine into MCS 3.5, OSX.

Have to think WinXP/MCS4 is the same.

It's not AMA, but the import goes very fast -- did not formally

time it, but it seemed to be just the time needed for a copy of

the file. If I recall (this was 3 weeks ago) you had to select

the mxf files of the clips individually -- and since each clip is

nested inside its own folder, it was a bit of a pain. (But I also

was testing AMA on a 5.5 seat we have, too, and had a little

trouble making it work right away.... I may be remembering having

to select clips inside their individual folders from the AMA

tests...)
