Are the MP4 files from an EX style Camera? If so looks like whomever gave
them to you has broken the BPAV file structure, a big NO NO! You will need
to get the originals if that is the case.

Subject: [Avid-L2] AMA Plugin For SONY .mp4 needed
we're getting a pile of media on drives that is .mp4 that is not opening
with AMA.
Checking the Avid plug-in page & following the links for MAC OS has two
times now given me a file that MC can't open - it claims to be not
recognized. I also tried Streamclip & Handbrake to no avail.
Anyone have suggestions for opening .mp4 files ? We're running MC 5.5 on a
MacbookPro.
btw- in the file structure on the drive the actual clips are preceded by 543
- don't know if that's an indication of the actual camera ???
FWIW -downloading & installing the P2 AMA plug in for Panasonic was a
breeze, but we're stuck on this sony .mp4
Thanks
