I found the old thread regarding M resolution on Symphony August 2006:

Today I was told that my mac SNDX 4.0.5 will not import to 10:1m resolution. The mc softs 3.1.3 and 3.5 will. I'm not at the system but why would SNDX not import to 10:1m. Don't know if this relates to the above thread as that was back in the Symphony 1.7ish days. The problem is the need to import to 10:1m over 7TB of surveillance/pelco cam footage to save drive space for offline. Don't get me started as to why they didn't shoot to tape. Just one more example of file based looking good on paper and then turning into a pig F&((0 in post. Not to mention ALL the 24 hour a day footage off tape with multiple cameras has already been captured and takes only 4TB total for offline but the 3 pelco files take up 7TB on their own for just 3 camera feeds. Also the QT movies from the pelcos are broken into 5 hour files that tend to crash during import so they have to be broken into 30 minute chunks to import them into Avid. So much for the
sasafrassin new paradigm of media and saving on tape stock. I just can't fathom file based on big 24 hour a day shooting multicam edited Reality Shows being more cost effective or time efficient relative to tape based. I'm trying to be open minded but once again we're being bit in the arse. Can anyone confirm that SNDX 4.0.5 on Mac won't import to 10:1m? I'm not at the system but I believe the people that are telling me this so I just want to confirm with someone else.
