Well lock and load because I'm now delivering file based shows without Captioning because they are going to add that to the file on their end, or should it be they're end? I also learned the basic QC is being done on computers and they are hoping to upgrade so people at least have QT Pro to watch the files that are going to air. I was also told they've had problems with files going through the QC chain but ending up with empty audio tracks that somehow cause problems at the play out server. I believe the statement, "We pay kids to watch TV" refering to their QC process, made my stomach turn just a little. Sounds like there are still some QC bugs to work out with file deliveries. I'm going to try to learn as much as I can from them and hopefully avoid some of the pitfalls.

Today I showed a class of TV students (university undergraduates, not school age) a misspelt caption that was tacked on to the end of a bit of footage I was using for teaching. It may have actually been aired. It read "Look after your're mobile phone". Three-quarters of the group were unable to tell me what was wrong with it. I pointed out that the editor was often the last line of defence (is that 'defense' to you, Steve?) before a wrongly spelled or grammatically inept caption goes to air. Hey Ho. The stove is lit and I can pour a glass of wine. Goodnight all.

"Losing" is what the Cubs do. (or pick your favorite slammable sports team) Also, their, there and they're. Or too, to and two. Anything that's not picked up by spellcheck.

Also depends on whether you want to integrate with DaVinci Resolve for color correction. Then your decision is very clearly Blackmagic.
