[Avid-L2] Re: AUDIO UNDERUN in MC 6.0

Steve - (thanks for the quick reply)
I believe he was running in 'full yellow' mode, lowest quality, thats what I'm running in.
I'm finding what you're saying regarding AMA to be true - this project is massive, with a ton of media shot on 4 different cameras/media types. We thought originally about a straight up ingest to Dnx145, but chose to go the AMA route as the ingest would've easily taken a few days.
Do you really feel a transcode is needed even though he rendered the media ? I thought the render would aleviate that, so I'm just asking.

I vaguely recall the console playlength thingy - hating using back in the old AVR 77 days - what were the keystrokes again ??
I thought since my co-worked was running 6.0 that it might be related to that as I'm doing nearly the same kind of editing on a simialr rig wMC 5.5 and am free of any Audio Underuns.

Thanks

Dave B

AMA is not for all day, every day editing. It's supposed to allow you to get in and get something done fast, but it was never intended for a big project to by in it for extended periods of editing... at least that's my understanding. AMA just gets really boggy. Think about what you're asking the Avid to do through AMA. You've got to transcode. It won't take that long. I try to do it the first night or the second night.
