Wow. We're still having issues with Avid's crappy Title Tool. Can't wait for today's webcast showing how this is finally going to get upgraded to a modern professional tool.

Well it's looking like my After Effects assumption is correct. My assistant editor was able to take the same font and follow their template in After Effects and the text is sharper. I know about the move it 1 pixel trick but in my experience that only helps if the title has been repositioned in the effect tool itself. As long as I build the title in the correct position and don't use the position parameters in the effect window, be it simple or 3D effect, the text shouldn't have that issue, although I'd be curious what others think about this. I always likened it to moving a chyron in a dve back in the linear days. That could create the line twitterish weirdness and a bump up or down would usually get the text to look better, I've always treated Avid title tool the same way and do my best to avoid repositioning in the effect window as opposed to the title tool with the exception of moves on the title of course. I am curious what the actual
ramping of the title tool edges is in Avid. I can see how a slight ramp can avoid transient overshoots etc.... Is Avid title tool actually softening the edges to avoid this?
