I have this deck, but honestly I only use it with FCP because I've never even gotten the newer versions of MC to recognize it, so I usually digitize in FCP and then AMA into Avid. I will say though that if you've got a lot of TC breaks on the tape, and you're going to capture straight firewire, and not through one of the cards with RS 422 deck control, it can get ugly.
