[Avid-L2] MC6 and lion 32bit or 64bit kernel?

 

Currently my MBP 10.6.8 boots in 32bit kernel judging by the system profiler reading, "  64-bit Kernel and Extensions:    No"  With a switch to Lion which still has both kernels would you set it to boot 32 for legacy apps and it knows to run MC 6 in 64 bit.  Not sure how this is controlled or if it just happens.  I remember the sentinel driver required a 32bit kernel in the past, is this still true?
