Can't you do that workspaces and toolsets right now?
Ya know, MC keyboard shortcutting is awesome, but I've officially run out of space. One of the few things I like better about FCP is the fact that you can map keys 8 ways deep with combinations of key modifiers. How hard would this be for Avid to do? I need it now!

I agree that Auto Monitoring should be off as the default.
Since we're sharing tips, I thought I'd point out that in version 5 (maybe
starting in v4?) you can map 8 different Timeline Views to the keyboard. If you
haven't rummaged through your Command Palette lately, you may have missed this
little gem.
