This looks good, but not particularly better than most of the good videos on Vimeo. Of course, the original master images were probably striking to start with and that helps.
Start with 1920x1080/23.98p masters. (NO interlaced media.) Encode downsampled 720p H264 at about 3-5Mbps and it will look like this. MOV or MP4. MPEG Streamclip actually does one of the better MP4 encodes of any of the applications.
Vimeo will take that, stomp on it a bit, but leave you with a very nice image.
