You don't have to keep paying anything. It's free as long as you can stand the ads. And if not, you pay as you go.

Services like Spotify are forever changing our relationship to music. Spotify allows access to a massive library of music, instantly available anywhere. Our living room is filled with LPs and CDs, but now I haven't bought a CD in over a year, and I'm probably more likely to buy a vinyl than a CD today. Crucially, I've also stopped buying music digitally. Why would I, when I have access to every song I want at all times?

A feature that has become surprisingly useful is collaborative playlists, where a group of users share a playlist, and each can add songs to it. We've been making it a habit to include Spotify in our preproduction, often with our clients, in planning shoots, evaluating directions for an edit, etc.
