Re: [Avid-L2] PC to MAC media files issue...

Andi, I did trash the database files before I started MC. I actually did that almost every time I added files and restarted the program. Still had the same issue and error message.

Are there database files in there - they are called msmFMID.pmr and msmMMOB.mdb.  If so, delete them and let Avid recreate and rescan the directory.  If they aren't in there then try this;  open a project, doesn't matter what, and create a title.  Save it to the workspace you wish to place your media in.  Avid will automatically create an AvidMediafiles folder with the correct file structure.  Now drag your media files into the Avid-created MXF folder and rescan.  Give it a shot and let us know.
Cheers,
Andi

Subject: [Avid-L2] PC to MAC media files issue...

      Hi all,

This is my first post although I have been following over the past year or so and have learned tons from everyone - so thanks! Now I have an issue that I haven't been able to figure out myself and would like to see what you guys & gals come up with.

I just moved all my media & projects from my PC with MC 3 to my brand new imac with MC 5.5. Unfortunately many of the files that were in the MXF folder are not appearing. I read up on the issue and some say it is due to acap on files in the MXF folder or a corrupted render file. I created a new MXF and made sure I was under 3000 files I also put in only media files - no renders. Still nothing - even though I know that the media files I need are there. When I try to relink, I get the following message:

An error occurred loading database.

/volumes/Macintosh HD/Avid Media Files/MXF/1/

Any thoughts or similar experiences? Many thanks!

-Michael
