[Avid-L2] Mac Video Card problem effects display and Mojo output?

Got a Mac Pro 1.1 2x3Ghz Dual Core Intel Xeon with 5 GB ram 667MHz  DDR2 FB-Dimm.  The video card is ATY Radeon X1900 XT.  When I run avid mc 3.1.x with an SDI mojo after about 25 minutes the computer displays die with no signal and if I'm outputting through the mojo to tape the record machine continues with a freeze frame of video from when the displays on the computer monitor die.  I figure it's a thermal problem with the video card.  I've done the maintenance drop etc but it still does it.  Once it dies I pull the power cord a couple of times while trying to reboot.  It takes 5 to 10 reboots attempts to get the monitors back.  I fired up the computer today and did nothing with it and the display is still going after a couple hours.  I assume that when avid is running there is a much heavier load on the graphics card which creates enough heat to make the card fail.  Short of shot gunning the card is there a self test or something I could run
to confirm it's the Radeon X1900 XT that is the culprit.  One of our junior service techs ran disk warrior on the unit and said there were errors indicated but they could not be fixed for some reason.  I chalk this up to novice tech but what do I know.  Curious what others think.
