I've mostly used Adrenaline in SD. Cannot say it was my all-time favorite, but it basically worked OK, from my perspective. I certainly don't think it deserves the bad rep it seems to have acquired. Their more recent hardware is certainly better, however, and I definitely recommend it to those that can afford it.
After you guys spend a couple of years wrestling with the all the configuration and support issues involved with using 3rd party hardware, I'll bet some will start pining for the "golden years" when you just plugged things in and they worked...
