I have to say the college where I teach is all FCP and has no intention
of going back. Avid missed that boat when FCP came out, and they didn't
understand the attack at the student level, and didn't compete on
institutional pricing.
That said, my students LOVE ProTools. That's what they equate Avid
with, so maybe there is some hope. Students might pay attention if they
know the video editing software is the same price as FCP, and comes from
the same people as ProTools.
