Remember that you don't have to relinquish the old version of FCP
either. Avid don't want to knock the competition they want to help the
customer back to their platform.

They are offering FCP to Avid crossgrade training as part of the
offering as well to make sure any switchers from FCP get the goodness
from Composer from the get go.

Seems a pretty good defensive position - make a switch to Avid quite
easy to
justify for any FCP editors who aren't happy with whatever new FCP turns
out
to be.
