[Avid-L2] Re: Hijack, was, How to scan a drive

 

Actually, the more I think about this the more useful I think it might be.

Can this program scan an entire drive and generate a report or spreadsheet of every file and its location, with an option to customize or group files and assign project names?

It could be a great archival databasing system - scan an archive drive, assign project names to folders or groups of folders, and be able to search by reelname/date/filename/timecode, etc..., or use an XML to bring a project back online. Can you read MXF files to pull project names? Batch assign project names to Quicktime files (is this even possible)?
