Did you try the XDcam transfer application from Sony?
You probably won't have audio, but you can transcode to QT on mac, and then
transcode further using any QT tool you might have.
(or have QTchange add BITC and Reel)
I'm currently altering my Offloader for the BBC to work with these files,
and it should do the transcode to any QT format, as well as straight to Avid
MXF.
