Andi,
This thing can make a backup of the original as well as transcode to DNxHD
MXF.
(so, no import in Avid, just MediaTool the clips in)
http://www.videotoolshed.com/product/15/offloader/3
But be warned, all framerates are supported EXCEPT 29.97.
(It is based on BBC code, and the BBC does not really care about NTSC frame
rates...)

Subject: [Avid-L2] ProxyMill for Avid offline...
Hi all,
I'm possibly going to be doing some on-set data wrangling in the near future
and i've been looking into Imagine Products Inc's ShotputPro and ProxyMill.
ShotputPro seems to be a good little solution for generating multiple
backups and organising data but I was wondering if anyone has had any
experience with Proxymill? Their website seems to suggest I can compress to
multiple formats and codecs but doesn't mention a definitive list and i
can't see where to sign up to their forum to ask them. Ideally it would be
awesome if i could generate DNxHD36 MXF files to easily drop in an
AvidMediaFiles folder and rescan rather than having to import back at the
shop. Does anyone know if it can do this?
Does anyone have any other suggestions as to how to create OP Atom MXFs at a
remote location without an Avid? I thought about Metafuze but i'm not sure
how limited that is with regard to input formats? Can i use it to transcode
XDCAM EX/P2/Nanoflash etc?
Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated,
cheers,
Andi
