I just rebuilt on of our Mac pros with an SSD. WOW! Wish I'd put one of those in my MBP. Get an MBP for media composer if you get the 17" you can use io express and run FCP, too. Shortly we should start to see lightpeak ...er... Thunderbolt connected hardware. New MBP, no question.
