[Avid-L2] Re: Milestone now download 5.5?

 

One thing to be aware of. Apparently the AMA plug-ins are no longer included with the installer, starting with MC 5.5. Only the Quicktime plug-in is now included. The other plug-ins, like RED, P2, XDCAM, etc. will have to be separately installed if you intend to work with those cameras.

This seems like a real potential gotcha if you rent an MC 5.5 system on short notice. You'll have to remember to verify that your system will work with the cameras being used. Assuming you will even know this in advance. I do a number of on-site convention edits and this situation could be very problematic in that environment.
