[Avid-L2] Re: MC exporting to quicktime how to get it right?

 

I think I hit a open wound when starting this topic...
But thanks for all your response.

Yesterday I decided to transcode the XDCAM HD files into Avid 1:1x codec. And tried to export it as QT same as source. This morning I found my MC mac in a complete frozen state....
The show is 1 1/2 hours long so this will keep me busy today! First get some espresso.... ( If the machine works...)

I did some research by collegues in Amsterdam and a lot of them prefer to transcode all there material from XDCAM HD into DnXhd before cutting. (to get realtime subcaps and QT ref options) They do a Same as source export after finishing and send it to grading with no complaints...

Although everybody is happy with it; to me it seems like compression over compression...
