Jim and Randy, thank you for the OWC recommendation, just what I was looking for. I have 5400 drives in my Mac Pro and therefore have stayed with 10.5, MC 3.5 and FCS 2. CalDigit RAIDed my system drive along with the three internal media drives to their card (separate volumes) which seems to make editing even native HDV easier on the system. I run Disk Warrior from an external Firewire drive. I intend to separate the system boot-up volumes for FCS and Avid (result of an earlier discussion on the subject here), but is there any other benefit to keeping the system drive out of the RAID array?
