[Avid-L2] Re: [FCP-L] sync problem

Thanks, everyone. Bouke's suggestion had the most appeal, because it's the most obscure ;-)... however, it did not do the trick. Robin's and Trev's idea to set the audio playback quality to high did not do it either. I did check sample rates and frame rates, they all check out. I did convert some files to aif, but the problem persists. There are no video gaps to fill with slug.

Thanks everyone for your ideas, they are appreciated. Anything else you can think of?

The video is one long piece of Quicktime ProRes HQ. I have not been involved in its making, but I gather that there were 5 'reels' that came out of Color, and they were obviously combined into one long reel. The original footage was shot on RED. The synch offset is consistent with the 23.98/24 fps discrepancy. I have stems/audio files for the 5 individual reels, and they line up ok at the start of each reel, and then drift out of sync as the reel progresses.

I'm really puzzled...

Thanks again,

Rainer
