[Avid-L2] Re: Digitizing question

 

I think you meant to say, "then the deck should not be locked to reference if your Avid isn't...". Or am I missing something? Without sync the avid will lock to incoming video during capture. I'm a big fan of a round of sync foe everyone just to be safe. If the avid has no sync I don't think the avid cares on capture if the deck is free running or locked to house ref but when doing a digital cut I've had prompts warning about a lack of sync to the record machine that might effect edit accuracy.
