Two things have changed when the Select Project window comes up.
"Shared" radio button shows 4 of my project folders but not the others (which, naturally, are the ones I need it to see).
"External" produces an error: Exception: DISK_DIR_NOT_FOUND, filename: ???
In addition, when I try to navigate to a client project folder, I now get that same DISK_DIR_NOT_FOUND message, whereas before there was no problem. I checked the permissions on the folders "Shared Avid Projects", the main client folder (which contains all the actual project folders for that client), and the actual MC project folders within, and all show that all permissions are Read And Write. (For example, the previously working file path was: ~/Shared/AvidMediaComposer/Shared Avid Projects/[client name Folder]/[MC project folders related to that client])
Even if I take that client name Folder and copy it to ~/daveharrison/Documents/Avid Projects, MC5.5.1 still won't open it and will give me the DISK_DIR error.
It's like suddenly MC doesn't know what I'm pointing to when I go to those client name Folders that I've been using all along before the upgrade. To add to the confusion, what I *can* do is copy any individual MC project folder directly into ~/daveharrison/Documents/Avid Projects, and with the Private radio button selected, I can load a project from there.
*******
Here's what I've done so far to figure this out. Ran full Uninstaller, repaired permissions, Full Install, repaired permissions. I've also tried removing the Avid Users folder and creating a brand new user, plus deleted the app's Site_Attributes, MCState, and Site Settings parts. At one point I even ditched the entire \Settings folder.
I've done this 3 times (yes, the definition of insanity, right?).
********
So, I can't use the External radio button for anything at all (plus I get that error), the Shared radio button no longer shows me main client Folders that I used to be able to see, and I can't read any projects unless I copy them individually into that other folder (~/daveharrison/Documents/Avid Projects), which means all my different clients' projects will no longer be organized by client--they'll be mish mashed into one master folder. Help, please.
