Just tried it. I had an HD clip that was DNX220. I transcoded it to XDCamHD 50mb
and tried dragging that media file into Vegas. No go. Here we shoot everything
XDCam HD 50MB. All of our decks are hooked up to FCP systems, so when it's
loaded into FCP, I can't open those MXF files in Media Composer or Vegas unless
I do an export using the Sony XDCam option in the export menu. It's just a
re-wrap, so it is fast.

Subject: [Avid-L2] XDCAM HD for Sony Vegas
A client wants me to capture DVCProHD tapes, then give him the files to edit in
Sony Vegas. If I capture in Symphony using the XDCAM HD 50mb MXF digitize
setting, will he be able to edit using my MXF files? Seems too easy, so I'm not
hopeful. Maybe I'd be better off using the FCP capturing to ProResHD. I don't
want to export. Just digitize and give him the hard drive.
