Re: [Avid-L2] EVO 9850 trouble

That decks older than half the people on this list.
Why would they want HI8 anyhow?

Subject: [Avid-L2] EVO 9850 trouble

We've had an odd request to deliver on Hi8.

I pulled the EVO9850 out of the closet, dusted it off, hooked it up, seems to
work just fine - except: it can't seem to find timecode when in edit under avid
control.  It can frame-accurately hit a 'search to' timecode, but once I go into
edit mode, if doesn't seem to be able to read timecode (regradless of if it's
manual switch is in 'edit' mode, or not.)  Avid correctly invokes the insert or
assemble function, too - it's as if there were no code on the tape as soon as I
go into edit.  (I can also control the transport with no problem from another
device- I may have to haul out the RM450 to see what it does, but thought I'd
ask here first.

Anyone remember this deck at all?  Any of this ring a bell?
