Hi Listers,
We're working on a job at the moment which is shooting on EX3s and they've been providing us with the EX folders from there SxS cards on hard drive. Normally i'd expect to see the usual file structures of BPAV>CLPR etc. right down to the MP4 file with the XMLs etc but recently we've been reciveing something a bit weird. We're seeing a series of folders called; Clip, Edit, General, Sub, Take and User Data, then three loose files called CUEUP>XML, DISCMEDIA.XML and MEDIAPRO.XML. Sub seems to contain proxies, and Clip has full res files but with MXF files rather than MP4s and a selection of .BIM and XML files. We can link to the folder with AMA but it only brings up a bin with the clips and does not link to them (they don't turn yellow, media offline). When we import the files they are fine. (We're on version 4.0.5 MC DX)
Proxies make me think they would be using XDCAM HD discs but i know they are shooting on an EX3?? Plus how would it be recording MXF files? Is there some software or process that they may be using which would create these folder structures or re-wrap the files to MXF?
They did have a nanoflash recorder attached which shoots MXF but they tell me they have stopped using the nano. WTF is going on? It's ok because i can still get the files in but i'd love to know what the deal is with this weird hybrid.
Any help appreciated as always. Cheers,
Andi
