search. Does anyone remember what kit is used to add an additional
drive bay in a mac pro tower. A client wants to put a 4 way stripe
internal raid in a mac pro tower and add an extra system drive. I
seem to remember mention of a kit to put an extra drive in one of the
optical bays or something like that. I believe there was a concern
about the additional heat of an extra drive and maybe something about
an extra fan or some mounting kit that helped put the extra drive in a
spot with better cooling. Curious if anyone remembers or can point me
to a source for more details.

What a coincidence, John. I am doing this very thing right now. I'm
installing a solid-state drive in the lower optical drive bay to be
used as my system drive, leaving the 4 hard-drive slots available for
other uses (media drives, of course).
The installation depends on which model Mac Pro your client has.
There are brackets available for the optical bay that adapts two 2.5"
or 3.5" drives to fit into the 5.25" optical drive space. If the Mac
Pro is an older one (like mine), the installation also requires some
SATA cables and power cable adapters. All can be found at OWC: <http://eshop.macsales.com/search/Multi+mount

This is the one I am using; it adapts two 2.5" HD's or SSD's to mount
into the optical drive bay and includes the necessary SATA cables and
power adapter cables: <http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MM352A52MP8/
