I see the comb like artifacts all the time with SD and HD 1080 footage when I apply color correction. The histogram shows this very clearly. It's like a quantization error is introduced with certain, maybe all but I haven't checked, color correction adjustments. I'd love to know the real technical explanation for the comb like histograms that are generated while color correcting.
