The lack of "shuttle viewing" during rewind and fast forward like we did in the linear days accounts for a lot of missed opportunities some of which are very basic. I've asked before on this list if cameramen have universally stopped shooting pushes and pulls. Every time I rip out some lame ass 3D warp on a wide beauty shot to simulate a zoom on a shot I often wonder if I had the field tape if I could find a real zoom. To date no one has missed the pushes in the final product but I bet if I left them in I'd be asked why the picture looks so soft and blocky. Oh I miss the days when I could be kind and rewind. ;-)
