[Avid-L2] 10bit 8 bit Q

 

I know we've discussed this before, but I'm curious about this. Digitize 8 bit media (from HDCam or EX1 files or DVCPro, etc). 1080 sequence (23.98 or 59.94). RGB in Color Corrector is set to 10bit. If it is set to 8 bit, I know the values change, but what is actually going on there. Also, if I've now colorcorrected this 8 bit media with RGB Color Correction setting set to 10 bit, is the sequence now 10 bit? Also, how does this relate to the 8 bit/10 bit selection on the Digital Cut tool? If I'm outputting to an 8 bit format like HDCam, with 8 bit capured media how does the 10bit RGB setting affect this or does it? I would switch the Digital Cut selection to 10 bit for an SR output. Lets discuss.
