P.S.:

For a simple test to prove that clipping occurs when exporting as RGB,
simply import the Belle-Nuit testchart. It has both legal and illegal
levels. Export as 601 and import as 601, and all levels are intact. Export
as RGB and import as RGB, and all levels above 235 and under 16 will have
been clipped/crushed.

Then take anything shot with a digital video camera (DV, P2), and watch how
the waveform shows that there are white peaks way into the 250-range. These
will be clipped. No more details in those cloudy skies, no more detail in
the high whites, and less information to work with in grading. Essentially
reducing the contrast ratio BEFORE going into grading...
