I'm a little confused. How did the file get to the grading house in order for them to use Color? Did the student cut on FCP to start with?
You might also check if there's any different between 8-bit and 10-bit settings. If they rendered uncompressed from Color, it's whatever version of uncompressed they had, based on the i/o card in that system. Typically BMD, Kona and Apple uncompressed all match, BUT not always.
