So FCP can create create the closed captioning with the Matrox and Kona cards, or just preserve it? Of course where I'm working we are using BMD cards. I'll take the lack of an Avid response as no.

Things changed. The latest drivers now allow for up to 16 channels of
embedded SDI or AES audio. But I still think CC has to be on CH 8.
