just want an upgrade. Had a customer pissed about this just last week.
For the record, Pinnacle Liquid performed DVD authoring DIRECT FROM the
NLE timeline, and ALL editorial changes were reflected in real time
inside the DVD project. Effin awesome.
It's EOL officially as of this week, but Avid owns the code and knows
the score. Could they pursue it? I dunno. Should they? Yeah. Will
DVD's be relevant soon? I dunno.
If you can, there's no reason NOT to set up Avid DVD on a PC and do your
authoring there. But Avid DVD PC is really a marriage of convenience
for the manufacturers, not the customers.
Think of it another way, Wes.
Would Avid, as masters of the workflow, be better served by providing an
Xplatform authoring solution, or by encouraging every mac customer to
populate their box with a copy of FCP (Or Premiere/Encore)? Would their
customers be better served?
