This makes no sense to me. Why in God's name would some Avid editor be
sitting there thinking "I gotta make a DVD, but I'm SOL, Avid didn't bundle
any DVD authoring software with my Media Composer."

That's just nonsense. If someone needs to make a proper DVD on the Mac they
use DVD Studio Pro. Done.
