RE: [Avid-L2] Re: Reality TV Formats

>Tom, got any XDCAM horrer stories?

I have not had one XDCAM disc fail or give me any trouble. I was very
complacent throwing discs around on Cops. I kept 2 discs in my press vest
without the plastic shipper case just like I carry Beta tapes. That was in
the hot and humid salt air of Cocoa Beach, 105 degree 100% humidity of
Houston Texas and the rain, cold and mist of Cincinnati. Never ONE problem.
Often the cameraman quit before the camera did. The XDCAM SD and HD camera
line is tough as nails and bullet proof from my experience. Beta or SX
cameras would occasionally have humid or slack issues but I have not had one
problem with any XDCAM camera. Zip, zero, nada...

If I want to really test something I give it to my 9 year old. Fortunately
at present he cannot shoulder a XDCAM camera but trust me he wants too...
