[Avid-L2] Re: Limiting "Avid MediaFile" Folder Creation

Filter Out System/Boot drive doesn't work? You can also change read/write privileges on certain drives to gray them out in the Media Creation settings.

I use the dummy text file trick on all other drives that I don't want media stored on. The key is to remove the extension so that it is no longer associated as a file. I believe that if you don't, Avid will still create the Folder.
