[Avid-L2] Re: AVCHD-day

I don't think the Panasonic AVCHD-P2 converter works on files from Sony. However, I believe version 1.1 of that software works on AVCHD files shot on Canons, so that version might work with Sony. I think any version after that you're out of luck.

I was experimenting with some AVCHD stuff last week and was able to convert some .mls files using TMPGEnc Express 4.0 into a quicktime with an Avid 1x1 codec that looked good in Media Composer.

The transcoded footage seems slightly choppy, I can't play back the original mls files so I'm not sure if this is preexisting or caused by my transcode settings.
