No, I don't think so. True on the "film" side, but not true when you look at something like news or the reason for the original creation of Symphony.
The trouble is that "offline" is where they have had - and still have - the clearest focus and the least conflicting story and product line. "Offline" has always only been Media Composer (and/or Xpress). They've had a terrible, historical mix of finishing products. Just look at the legacy trail and missteps: Fusion, Illusion, Symphony, DS, Liquid, etc.
No wonder FCP makes more sense. The product matrix can't help but reinforce that conclusion!
