I've seen the 5D overheat when shooting a full 32 gig card (over an hour?)
as an approach for an doc interview, but the problem went away if we broke
the recording up into no more than 10 - 15 minute clips.

That being said, I haven't heard of any overheating with the 7D. You can
check the forums at http://www.cinema5d.com/ and see what users with lots of
DSLR experience have to say.
