I'm curious as I'm in the middle of a 5D commercial that I'm cutting in FCP. However, next week the director does another job on the 5D that will start out on Avid and later move to FCP.
As far as PluralEyes, it's FCP only, because the app looks for a saved sequence in the open FCP project titled "pluraleyes". It's not a plug-in per se, but a separate application that runs outside of FCP.
On this current project, I had about 1 hour of sync sound dailies. I randomly dropped all the sync takes on a blank timeline. Then I randomly dropped all the audio clips on available tracks of the same timeline. Then I let PluralEyes do its magic. It took less than 10 minutes and I had a separate synced sequence for each sound take automatically created by PluralEyes. About 16 separate sequences in total. All sync was dead on the money. Pure magic. The key is that you must have a guide track on the camera clips, since PluralEyes analyzes and compares waveforms to do the syncing.
