[Avid-L2] FCP codecs for JVC mp4 files?

So I know the Avid codecs, but is there a similar thing for FCP codecs
(other than QuickTime)?

I have a customer who shot 15 hours of footage on the new JVC 700 camera in
the .mov mode instead of the EX mode. The files will open in FCP but not on
a Mac Avid - for import.

Other than "washing" the files thru FCP, are there any other workflows that
people have used?
