[Avid-L2] AMA sub-clips

Using AMA on Symphony 4.03, Classic, Windows.

Clips were shot on Sony EX3, 720p/2997.
We created a new project at 1080i/5994. Using AMA, the producer created sub-clips, and put them in their own bin. We transcoded one of the subclips to the Unity. Checking the new clip, we noticed that it was missing A2. Then discovered that the AMA subclip was also missing A2, but the original AMA master clip has both A1 & A2.
I switched the project type to 720. Now subclipping works as it should, bringing both channels of audio. I called Avid TS, and they replicated the problem. Sub-clipping AMA clips when the project type and the footage format are mismatched will result in subclips dropping the last channel of audio.
So i tried a few easy ideas to fix the subclips - to get A2 associated, but failed.

Can I fix the subclips that are missing A2? Can subclips be modified? Maybe something like edl export/import?
