I have also often heard comments off line about how people don't want to participate in querries or discussions on this list because some in the group are so quick to criticize or make personal attacks.
I don't care so much, I've learned to get a pretty thick skin over the years, but I feel that in general the environment here fails to lending itself to open discussion. Maybe I didn't get the memo on who gets to talk and who doesn't.
I also don't get why this group likes to have literally hundreds of discussions on food and puppies, as opposed to experiences with using the AVID products, or ideas about workflow. I realize some questions seem ill formed or silly to those of us that have been editing for decades, but it wouldn't hurt for any of us to show a bit more patience.
Have a nice weekend...

Also, don't forget to:
Draw a pentagram in the dirt by hand.
Under the light of the moon, sacrifice a live chicken.
Rotate counter clockwise three times while chanting "kcus nac ygolonhcet" a being ever so careful not to STEP OUTSIDE the pentagram.
And maybe it will work...
